I always had a feeling I’d make a great Phoebe Bridgers fan. Her melancholy music is exactly up my alley, something I could tell from a mile away.
For whatever reason, it took six years from when she first entered my radar for me to actually sit down and immerse myself in her music. That immersion took the form of this brief Deep Dive (mercifully stretched beyond her two solo studio albums by the fact that she likes to team up with her friends on side projects).
Of course, now I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. Bridgers is exactly as brilliant as I suspected, and I have had her work — especially those two solo albums — on repeat to make up for lost time.
