Song of the Day #2,792: ’66’ – The Afghan Whigs

1965This is the third song from The Afghan Whigs’ album 1965 to appear on the blog, and the second on a Random Weekend.

1985, released in 1998, is the only Afghan Whigs album I own, and it’s a very good one. In both of those previous SOTD posts I called it out as one of the sexiest records I own and I stand by that assessment.

You walked in
Just like smoke
With a little c’mon, c’mon, c’mon
In your walk
Come on

I’ve been waiting
Are you waiting
For my move?
Well, I’m making it

So tell me baby, can you shake it?
If I can move it with you
Will you let me take it?
I’ll be down on my knees
Screaming, “Take me, take me
Take me, take me – I’m yours”

I’ve never felt so out of control
You don’t even know
What you’re doing to me
C’mon and do it to me
Don’t you stop

C’mon, c’mon
C’mon, little rabbit
Show me where you’ve got it
‘Cos I know you’ve got a habit…

C’mon, c’mon…
Show me

Nice sound, and I hear what you mean about the sexiness,

I agree it’s a nice sound; and I’ve been thinking that you should do a theme week on “sexy” songs. The first song featured should be Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” What do you think?

Definitely a good idea. I featured ‘I’m On Fire’ in 2011 during a week on metaphors, but I could always post a live version just for you. 🙂

    Thank you 🙂
