Few artists inspire me to use the word “genius,” but Randy Newman is undoubtedly one of them. He is a brilliant satirist and a hopeful romantic, a biting cynic with a favorite uncle’s sense of humor.
He has written scores and songs for some of the most beloved family films of a generation while penning acerbic attacks on an America he’s still proud to call home.
