Like a lot of people, I first learned about Brandi Carlile more than a decade into her career, when she released 2018’s By the Way, I Forgive You.
I tuned in to that year’s Grammys hoping she’d make a big impression and was thrilled to see her blow the roof of the place with her powerful performance of ‘The Joke.’
I quickly gobbled up the rest of her catalog and discovered a consistently thoughtful, creative songwriter with unparalleled pipes.
