Tame Impala holds the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Dracula,’ a collaboration with K-pop star JENNIE. ‘Dracula’ has been on the chart for more than a year now.
At #6 is Slovak pop singer ADÉLA with the viral hit ‘Nicole Kidman,’ another in a long line of songs titled after Hollywood actresses. But unlike Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘Demi Moore’ or SZA’s ‘Drew Barrymore,’ this song’s lyrics directly reference the titular namesake.
ADÉLA was inspired to write the song after squeezing into a corset to attend a Golden Globes party. She says the tight-fitting attire made her feel like Nicole Kidman.
The song features references to Kidman’s movies Moulin Rouge and Babygirl, and the video pays homage to those films as well as To Die For, Birth, Eyes Wide Shut, and Kidman’s AMC movie theater promos.
ADÉLA is the first Slovak performer to reach Billboard’s Hot 100, something she has done twice now (previous single ‘Ain’t in LA’ peaked at #24). This one has been rising, and has a chance to crack the top five.
Kidman herself made a surprise appearance in a TikTok of this song featuring Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, and Dua Lipa.
