That brings us to #10, where KPop sensations BTS return to the charts with ‘Swim,’ the lead single from their sixth album, Arirang. This is the fourth week on the chart for the track, which debuted at #1.
‘Swim’ gave BTS — who are back from a hiatus after serving mandatory military service — their seventh #1 hit on the Hot 100. It’s been more than 50 years since a band had that many #1s, as the chart is dominated by solo artists.
The band with the most #1s is The Beatles, with 20, followed by The Supremes (12), The Bee Gees, and The Rolling Stones (both with eight). BTS will likely tie those last two with their next single release.
