In 2018, my nephew Daniel — then 18 — released an EP of his original music. This was before he decided to pursue music as a career, but he was already demonstrating some impressive songwriting chops.

I approached this task with some trepidation, afraid I might have to fake my enthusiasm. Luckily, I needn’t have worried — the EP is great. I even decided to give it my beloved “rank the tracks in order of my preference” treatment.
