Like the Decades series, my posts on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame classes have allowed me to look back through time to celebrate artists I love and discover ones I don’t know very well.
The Rock Hall is certainly a flawed institution weighed down by biases and inconsistencies, but if nothing else, it’s an excuse to recognize the contributions of a wide range of talented musicians.
I started cataloging Hall of Fame classes in 2019, and since then I have both worked backward through time and added the new classes as they’re announced. I’m up to 15 covered classed now, and you can find all of them listed on the new Rock & Roll Hall of Fame landing page.
Like all of these pages, this one will be updated as I add new content. Coming soon are the new Class of 2026 and the Class of 2010.
By the way, for today’s Song of the Day, I chose The Smiths, a band I will trumpet for Hall of Fame inclusion until the Rock Hall eventually breaks down and does the right thing.
