The ladies continue to dominate the latest Hot 100, with HUNTR/X’s ‘Golden’ at #7 and PinkPantheress at #8.
‘Golden’ has spent 43 weeks on the Hot 100, including eight at #1, and is now a Best Song winner at the Oscars as well. I believe this is now the most successful Oscar-winning song ever, with the possible exception of Titanic‘s ‘My Heart Will Go On.’ That one had more physical sales, given its era, but didn’t spend as long on the charts.
At #8, ‘Stateside’ is a remixed version of a single PinkPantheress released a year ago. This one features Swedish pop star Zara Larsson. The Brit and Swede wax poetic about hooking up with American boys.
This remix picked up steam when Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu skated to it in an exhibition performance following her big win.
