We have another repeat artist today, as Bad Bunny sits at the #13 spot with ‘Tití Me Preguntó,’ another of the four singles from his Un Verano Sin Ti album to reach the top six. This track peaked at #5 before falling out of the top ten.
This song is a bit more interesting, musically, than the last Bad Bunny track I featured. It has some twists and turns and a pretty sick beat.
I’ll admit, I have a hard time listening to Bad Bunny sing (or rap) without thinking about my Cuban wife’s horror at how badly he mangles the Spanish language. Normally I can’t tell good Spanish from bad, but in his case I usually see her point.

I would respectfully suggest that calling Puerto Rican Spanish “mangled” is rather elitist and prejudiced. Such characterizations are often reflective of a broader disdain for Puerto Ricans generally.
Ironically, this same elitism and prejudice is often directed toward Cubans by South Americans (mostly Argentinians and Colombians) and by those from Spain for not speaking Castilian Spanish.
It seems to me such language prejudice is not all that different from the way the British view cockneys (or Americans for that matter) for not speaking the “Queen’s English” or Americans view Southerners or Black people for “mangling” “proper” English.
Ain’t no racism like Hispanic-on-Hispanic racism.
True, but you may want to serve as a counterweight rather than seeing her point and having such a hard time hearing “bad Spanish.”
