Song of the Day #2,346: ‘Waves’ – Mr. Probz

mr_probz_wavesWe have come to my final Billboard Hot 100 song of 2014.

At #17 this week is Ed Sheeran’s ‘Don’t,’
which sat in the same position when I looked at the charts two months ago. Sheeran has had a hell of a year.

And closing us out at #18 is Dutch rapper/singer Mr. Probz with ‘Waves.’

I believe it’s the fast remix of the song that has charted, but I’m featuring the original version below, because it’s better.

Based on much of the crap populating the top 20 right now, I didn’t expect to find something this chill when I hit play on the video. Nice way to close out 2014’s Billboard series, I think.

[Verse]
My face above the water
My feet can’t touch the ground
Touch the ground, and it feels like
I can see the sands on the horizon
Everytime you are not around[Hook]
I’m slowly drifting away (drifting away)
Wave after wave, wave after wave
I’m slowly drifting (drifting away)
And it feels like I’m drowning
Pulling against the stream
Pulling against the stream

[Verse]
I wish I could make it easy
Easy to love me, love me
But still I reach, to find a way
I’m stuck here in between
I’m looking for the right words to say

[Hook]
I’m slowly drifting, drifting away
Wave after wave, wave after wave
I’m slowly drifting (drifting away)
And it feels like I’m drowning
Pulling against the stream
Pulling against the stream
