Tift Merritt released her first five studio albums at a clip of about one every other year, providing plenty of new material for ardent fans like me.
That made the five-year wait between 2012’s Traveling Alone and 2017’s Stitch of the World tough to endure, and it boosted my anticipation for this album enough to warrant the track-by-track treatment.
This thoughtful, earthy collection was well worth the wait.
