I’m out of town for a conference in Austin, Texas, for a week so unable to touch the blog. Instead of my usual blathering, I’m serving up five clips of the band Postmodern Jukebox reimagining recent hits in old-school styles. Enjoy!
It’s been awhile since I’ve featured Postmodern Jukebox on the blog. During that time, the band has gone from a clever low-budget project for founder Scott Bradlee to a full-on commercial success with a busy touring schedule and dozens of popular YouTube videos.
The production value of their clips has gone up as well. Check out those nifty monogrammed podiums in front of the horn section.
This might be my favorite clip of theirs yet, because I love that New Orleans sound, the singer (Miche Braden) has a wonderful voice and it’s so completely unexpected.
