The Random iTunes Fairy is amused that I bought an Eagles album after years of dissing the band. Specifically, I downloaded their extended greatest hits collection after discovering that it’s really just Hotel California (the song and the album) that turns me off. I’m actually pretty fond of the earlier, more country-flavored songs.
‘Lyin’ Eyes,’ from the 1975 release One of These Nights is a good example. Written, like so many Eagles hits, by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, ‘Lyin’ Eyes’ won a Grammy and reached the top ten on Billboard’s Hot 100 and Country charts.
