Song of the Day #5,141: ‘Late Night Talking’ – Harry Styles

Continuing my ‘What the Kids are Listening To’ roundup of the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart…

Rounding out this week’s top ten are two songs I’ve already featured. At #9 is Beyoncé’s latest single, ‘Break My Soul,’ which peaked at #7 before falling back two spots. Despite her legendary status, Beyoncé hasn’t had a #1 solo single since ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)’ in 2008. We’ll see if Renaissance, released a few days ago, breaks that streak.

Song of the Day #5,134: ‘As It Was’ – Harry Styles

It’s time for another installment of ‘What the Kids are Listening To,’ wherein I feature the songs currently topping Billboard’s Hot 100. It’s been a few months since my last foray into the charts, so I hope to discover some new tracks.

In the #1 spot for the third straight week is ‘As It Was,’ the lead single from Harry Styles’ third album, Harry’s House. ‘As It Was’ has spent 10 weeks in total at #1, reclaiming the top spot three more times after debuting there in April. Song of the Day #5,116: ‘Harry’s House’ – Harry Styles

Song of the Day #3,562: ‘Two Ghosts’ – Harry Styles

Another benefit of streaming is that it allows me to catch up with albums that passed me by in recent years.

I still have a dozen or so titles on my 2017 to-see list, but how many of those will I realistically get to once a new set of films make up this year’s list?

Song of the Day #3,512: ‘Sign of the Times’ – Harry Styles

Happy Valentine’s Day! And, more important, Happy Birthday to my daughter Fiona, who turns 12 today!

Fiona should be reasonably happy to have a Harry Styles song featured on her special day. She would have been similarly happy to have the Village Voice Pazz & Jop #12 song, Lana Del Rey’s ‘Love,’ posted as well, had I not written about it last March.
