A couple of months back I took a look at my birth year, 1972, counting down my favorite album releases and then featuring songs from acclaimed ’72 albums I haven’t heard.
I liked the yearly snapshot thing enough to make it a regular feature on the blog. But rather than move on to 1973, I’m going to jump around the decades a bit. For the next few weeks I’ll focus on 1982.
I thought I’d programmed Song of the Day posts for the two full weeks of my vacation, but apparently I stopped one day short. So today’s random selection is going up a little late.
Here, then, hastily published on Sunday morning, is one of my favorite Coldplay songs, presented without further comment.
Janelle Monae’s The ArchaAdroid is an odd album that I’ve never really given the time it probably deserves.
I bought it because I loved the infectious single, ‘Tightrope,’ and I heard the rest of the album was equally worthy.
It may well be, but it’s definitely not as accessible as ‘Tightrope’ and I didn’t have the patience to stick with it.
