Song of the Day #6,679: ‘Loving Life Again’ – Ella Langley

I’m closing out this edition of What the Kids are Listening To, appropriately, with an Ella Langley song. The Alabama-born singer-songwriter is certainly the story of this year’s Hot 100.

‘Loving Life Again’ is the fourth single from Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion. The other three made it to the top five, while this one has so far peaked at #16.

I don’t expect ‘Loving Life Again’ to climb much higher. It’s a sturdy country song that lacks the crossover appeal of ‘Choosin’ Texas‘ or ‘Be Her.’ But it’s lovely, and fleshes out the interesting blend of sexy melancholy that has made Langley a star.

That’s a wrap on the Hot 100 snapshot. I’ll give it another look in a couple of months when I recap the most popular songs of all of 2026.

[Verse 1]
Seasons come like seasons go, I guess
Ain’t it just like me, making all this mess of my head again?
I got memories I like to think of
When this big old world gets a bit too much

[Pre-Chorus]
When days are long, I drift away
I play that song I used to play
When skies are always summertime blue

[Chorus]
Just like that, I’m back to loving life again
Dreaming dreams ’bout back home riding on the wind
When I close my eyes, I find some peace in the back of my mind
In between them pines where I’m jumping on that quartеr horse, and then
Just like that, I’m back to loving lifе again

[Verse 2]
See that red dirt?
Hear that front porch swing
Is that Grandma?
I think she’s callin’ me

[Pre-Chorus]
When days are long, I drift away
I sing that sweet “Amazing Grace”
And I’m right there where skies are always summertime blue

[Chorus]
And just like that, I’m back to loving life again
Dreaming dreams ’bout back home riding on the wind
When I close my eyes, I find some peace in the back of my mind
In between them pines where I’m jumping on that quarter horse, and then
Just like that, I’m back to loving life again

[Bridge]
I know I ain’t the only one who thinks about that settin’ sun
Settlin’ on down into the night, and puts it on rewind

[Chorus]
Just like that, I’m back to loving life again
Dreaming dreams about back home riding on the wind
When I close my eyes, I find some peace in the back of my mind
In between them pines where I’m jumping on that quarter horse, and then
Just like that, I’m back
Yeah, just like that, I’m back to loving life again

[Outro]
Lovin’ life again
I’m back to loving life again
