Song of the Day #4,977: ‘Porch’ – Alan Silvestri

The newly 16-year-old Fiona finishes sharing her favorite orchestral pieces…

“Last but definitely not least is ‘Porch.’ A product of the great Alan Silvestri, ‘Porch’ somehow brings together a 2-and-a-half hour movie in just 64 seconds.

The newly 16-year-old Fiona continues sharing her favorite orchestral pieces…

“I could not make a list of my favorite soundtracks without including work from the incredible Ludwig Gӧransson. He has never failed to create original and yet familiar work by incorporating pieces of John Williams’ original Star Wars theme into his work on this spin-off.

The newly 16-year-old Fiona continues sharing her favorite orchestral pieces…

“Being one of the longest tracks I listen to, I thought this one deserved some recognition.

James Newton Howard wraps up the entirety of the Hunger Games movie franchise with this astonishing 10-minute piece. While watching the final scene of Mockingjay Pt. 2, you hear this beautiful melody along with great vocals from none other than Jennifer Lawrence herself.

When looking for a way to mark the occasion, I first thought about doing a week of “sweet sixteen” songs. I sure had plenty from which to choose. But it turns out almost every one of them is super creepy — like Jeffrey Epstein creepy.

Then I thought, why not let Fiona pick her own birthday tribute? So that’s what I did.
