Not counting today, I’ve posted 26 Barenaked Ladies songs on the blog, a combination of Random Weekend selections and my own picks. And yet only one of those tracks is from the band’s most popular album, 1998’s Stunt.
In addition to being their top-selling album (quadruple platinum in both the United States and their native Canada), Stunt is one of their best. It blends their signature whimsy with several lovely ballads and ties it all together with their best production quality to that point.
Today’s SOTD gives us our first glimpse of Stunt since Song of the Day #350 way back in 2009.
‘Never is Enough’ is a jaunty ode to ignoring the fear of missing out.

It’s amusing to look back at that post from 2009, where Amy says she must remedy not owning this album by going to Best Buy— as in to buy a CD!. Of course 11 years later, we “own” this and every other album in the known musical universe through Apple Music (and you do through Amazon).
So, I think we will give this album a proper full listen by pressing a button on our phone on our carried home.😀
