Ah Rashida Jones, you beautiful tropical fish. If this list were in order, the multi-talented Jones might well occupy the top spot.
The daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton, Rashida Jones is a writer, director, actress, singer, songwriter, Harvard grad, and social and political activist — as funny and smart as she is beautiful.
I first discovered Jones in her role on The Office, where she had the unenviable task of playing the woman who comes between Jim and Pam.
It’s a testament to Jones’ immense personal appeal and talent (as well as the show’s stellar writing) that her Karen Filippelli not only avoided becoming a villain but amassed her own sizable fan base. In fact, the first time I ever encountered the ‘Team X vs. Team Y’ phenomenon was when this triangle inspired fans to join Team Pam and Team Karen.
I also loved Jones’ work in I Love You, Man, a movie that centered on the relationship between Paul Rudd and Jason Segal, but was grounded by the nicely drawn relationship between her and Rudd.
My family and I were latecomers to Parks and Recreation, but we’ve zipped through the first five seasons of that great show over the past few months and I get to marvel at the awkward grace of her Ann Perkins.
Here is a clip from the 2010 film Monogamy, starring Jones and Chris Messina as a struggling couple. Why anybody would have a straying eye with Rashida Jones at home is a mystery to me.

I’m a fan of Jones, though not in the laminated list way. I’m more than a little concerned, though, whether she soars or crashes and burns writing Toy Story 4, a film I question should have been made at all after the perfection of the first 3.
Wow, that would be Peggy Lipton from “Mod Squad”? Didn’t know that she was with Quincy Jones. What a beauty she is, have never seen her in anything yet
Needa watch that movie now!! Love them both.
