Song of the Day #2,422: ‘I Really Like You’ – Carly Rae Jepsen

carly_rae_jepsen_really_like_youMTV stopped showing music videos years ago in favor of reality TV, but thanks to YouTube the art form is very much alive.

In fact, for marketing purposes, music videos are sometimes more important than the songs they feature.

Take Carly Rae Jepsen’s new single, ‘I Really Like You.’ The song is nowhere near as catchy as her smash ‘Call Me Maybe,’ and on its own could have fallen with a thud and relegated her to one-hit wonder status.

Song of the Day #2,419: ‘Vienna (Live)’ – Billy Joel

billy_joelYou never know what your kids will latch on to.

A few weeks back, we had a family movie night and watched 13 Going On 30, an under seen and underrated 2004 film. It’s a “young kid in a grown-up body” movie starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, and in my opinion the best of its genre, topping even Tom Hanks’ Big.
