The ska punk genre hit its peak in the mid to late 90s, a mercifully brief period that did manage to produce some quality music.
No Doubt is the best known of those bands, with Gwen Stefani remaining a household name to these days thanks to her move into dance pop and her stint on The Voice. Other bands riding the ska punk wave were Sublime, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rancid and Reel Big Fish.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the band Save Ferris and particularly its 1999 album Modified. This record was not well-received by critics, who found it lacked the edginess even the most melodic punk should retain. I find it perfectly enjoyable, probably for the same reason.

Ive never heard of Save Ferris. I agree that this song is more melodic than most punk and, for me, that’s a good thing also.
