#3. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

I enjoyed 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse but didn’t fall head over heels for it the way so many others did. It took this sequel, five years in the making, to fully indoctrinate me into this incarnation of Miles Morales. But I’m all in now, baby.

To an even larger extent than its ground-breaking predecessor, this movie expands the landscape of animated filmmaking, exuding artistry and unbridled imagination in every frame. The film feels like a comic book come to life in four dimensions — I’ve never experienced anything quite like it.

Song of the Day #4,801: ‘Crave’ – Madonna & Swae Lee

After nearly three weeks of diving into Madonna’s catalog, we’ve arrived at her most recent album, 2019’s Madame X. Released at the ripe old age (by music industry standards) of 61, this is one of the most stylistically interesting records of her career.

Madonna had been living in Lisbon, Portugal, for a couple of years when she was inspired to craft an album that featured not only the sounds of that country, but of the many cultures with which she had come into contact while there.

Song of the Day #3,842: ‘Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)’ – Post Malone & Swae Lee

Post Malone scores his fourth top five hit and Swae Lee lands his second with ‘Sunflower,’ a featured track from the great new movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

In the film, the song is a favorite of lead character Miles Morales.

This is as good a time as any to recommend Into the Spider-Verse, which is certainly one of the best attempts to bring the webslinger to the screen (and there have been many).
