Song of the Day #5,466: ‘Roar’ – Taylor Swift (AI)

My final example of an AI-generated song features two artists once locked in a bitter feud. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry squashed their beef on their own a few years ago, but if they hadn’t the machines were ready to do it for them.

This is a pretty convincing rendition, in part because ‘Roar’ sounds a bit like a Taylor Swift song from the early to mid 2010s. That makes sense, as many of Swift’s hits from that period were co-written by Max Martin, as was ‘Roar.’

Guest blogger Daniel continues his countdown of the year’s top albums…

Best Albums of 2022 – #8
Midnights – Taylor Swift

Now, I would say it’s likely that many reading right now who know me are shocked by this low placement of one of my favorite artists. It is true. I am a diehard Swifty. Song of the Day #5,275: ‘Sweet Nothing’ – Taylor Swift

My Favorite 2022 Albums
#4 – Midnights – Taylor Swift

Song of the Day #5,273: ‘All You Had To Do Was Stay’ – Taylor Swift

I recently wrote about the importance of track five on Taylor Swift’s albums, and the Random iTunes Fairy has responded by serving up one of those tracks today.

‘All You Had To Do Was Stay,’ from the 2014 album 1989, is one of Swift’s more upbeat track fives, in keeping with the overall style of that album. Song of the Day #5,264: ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’ – Taylor Swift

Continuing my ranking of the songs on Taylor Swift’s new album, Midnights

#2. ‘Sweet Nothing

I was such a big fan of the direction Swift took on folklore and evermore that it’s no surprise I’m drawn to the Midnights song that could have appeared on either of those albums. Co-written with beau Joe Alwyn, this is a delicate and comforting ballad that finds Swift at her most content. Faced with the pressures of the industry, she retreats to the safety and warmth of her love. A beautiful song.
