Song of the Day #2,261: ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ – Lorde

lorde_royalsIt’s been more than a year since Lorde released her celebrated debut album, Pure Heroine, but there’s no rest for a modern-day pop star, so naturally everybody is wondering what the hell she’s done for us lately.

Well, there’s no telling when her next album will be out, but for now we have this excellent offering from the soundtrack to the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Song of the Day #2,091: ‘Team’ – Lorde

I’ve never been completely satisfied with my criteria for the year-end list, but it works well enough. I limit myself to one song per album (though not per artist, if a particular artist has released multiple records) and I choose the songs that had the greatest impact on me personally, not necessarily the culture.
