Best Songs of 2013 – #10
Kicking off the top ten of my favorite 2013 songs is a track my wife discovered using Shazam when she heard it playing over a department store loudspeaker.
She has a knack for knowing instantly that she loves a song. I’m the opposite… it sometimes takes me a three or four listens before I have a clue.
I’m closing out this week of new music with my second Fitz & the Tantrums purchase, the band’s new album More Than Just a Dream. I haven’t heard much of this one, either.
But I really like what little I have heard, including first single (and today’s SOTD) ‘Out of My League’ and ‘Fool’s Gold,’ the song that first caught my wife’s attention.
I tend to buy new music in bunches. I suppose that’s because studios tend to time releases around particular periods, though apart from the holidays I’m not sure how that makes much sense.
At any rate, I’ve purchased five albums in the past week, a nice round number for SOTD purposes. I’ll feature one track from each this week.
