Song of the Day #3,686: ‘Nonstop’ – Drake

At #11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 is Drake, with his fourth song on the list (spoiler: it won’t be his last).

‘Nonstop’ is a little more rap heavy than Drake’s usual material. Apparently it’s a trap song, which reminds me that I still don’t know exactly what constitutes trap. I do know a whole lot of it is being made right now.

Song of the Day #3,678: ‘In My Feelings’ – Drake

Welcome to the latest installment of ‘What the Kids are Listening to,’ wherein I post the songs currently topping Billboard’s Hot 100.

In the #1 position is an artist whose name you will hear a lot over the next two weeks. Drake is dominating the charts in historic fashion. Occupying the #7 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 is ‘Look Alive’ by BlocBoy JB, featuring none other than, you guessed it, Drake. That gives Drake three songs in the top seven. And it won’t be the last time we hear from him this week.

BlocBoy JB is a Memphis rapper and former gang member who has released a number of mixtapes but is enjoying his first whiff of the charts with this track. Pretty sure he has Drake to thank.

Song of the Day #3,609: ‘God’s Plan’ – Drake

Yesterday I posted about Drake’s ‘Nice for What’ being the first #1 debut to replace a previous #1 debut by the same artist. Well, here’s Drake’s previous #1 debut — ‘God’s Plan,’ which is now at #3.

This was Drake’s second solo #1 (after ‘One Dance’). He previously hit the top spot twice in support of Rihanna, with ‘Work’ and ‘What’s My Name?’ He’s had 20 other Top 10 hits. Not bad for a Canadian.
