At #2 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 is Olivia Dean’s ‘Man I Need,’ which I first wrote about back in November when it was at #5. Talk about staying power. Dean’s track has been in the Hot 100 for 34 weeks now, and has spent much of this year in the top five, but it has so far peaked at #2.
At #3 is Bruno Mars’ ‘I Just Might,’ which spent three weeks at #1 after debuting there in early January. The lead single from Mars’ latest album The Romantic, this is his first track to debut at #1.
‘I Just Might’ delivers the throwback dance soul we have come to expect from Bruno Mars, who is one of the most consistently entertaining performers of the modern era.

Meet Me In Montauk 
Amy has had this song on repeat since it came out. The rest of the album is good, but this is the standout track.
and the video! I’m sure I contributed to its debut at number one as I had this beauty on repeat most of January.
Yeah this one’s an absolute banger! Love the song and definitely love the music video.
I’m always a fan of his more stripped back music videos like “That’s What I Like” where the direction is more focused on Mars himself with cool angles or animation rather than a big movie level production. I love in the “I Just Might” video how he’s portrayed playing every instrument which may not be accurate to the song but does represent how multitalented Bruno Mars really is!
The album was a bit of a disappointment but I actually could’ve seen “Cha Cha Cha”, another real standout from the record being the lead single instead of this one. Certainly not an instant classic like “24k Magic”, but Bruno Mars singing his heart out and giving us all the funk as per usual!
