John Legend might be a recent addition to the EGOT ranks, but I have never found him very engaging. He seems like a lovely man, but his music bores me.
His wife, model Chrissy Teigen, on the other hand, is a goddamn marvel. She is witty as hell, wielding her Twitter feed like a scalpel against the deplorables, and charmingly self-deprecating to boot.
Recently, Teigen revealed that she and Legend had sex on their first date. She met him while shooting a video for the song ‘Stereo,’ then hooked up with him later that night. Two kids into their marriage that story is more sweet than salacious, not that Teigen needs the cover. She isn’t one to be ashamed of her sexuality.
When I heard the story, the first thing I did was check out the video. I’m not sure what I expected to see, but I guess it was titillating to know what happened next. Amusingly, almost all of the comments were by people doing the same thing.

I’m also a bigger fan of Legend as a person than I am of his music, although I’m kinda diggin’ this song (and video).😁

I ADORE Legend’s voice, though I don’t own any of his albums. He just announced an upcoming Christmas album, which will be on constant rotation for me from Thanksgiving to Jan. 2. I follow both Legend and Teigen on Instagram (and Twitter, for that matter; Legend’s attempts to kindly but firmly pivot Kanye West in the direction of earth have been a particular delight over the last year). Teigen is a brilliant wielder of social media as a marketing tool. By welcoming me into their little family circle, she’s got me interested in buying her cookbook, John’s album, and whatever adorable collection she just launched at Target. They’re about as “goals” as a couple can be.
