Song of the Day #2,250: ‘Violent Shiver’ – Benjamin Booker

benjamin_bookerBenjamin Booker is a New Orleans-based blues-rock guitarist who sounds much older than his 25 years.

As with a couple of songs I’ve featured this week, this genre isn’t among my favorites, but I do appreciate it.

I wasn’t surprised to learn that Booker is touring with Jack White, as this song suggests a definite White Stripes influence.

Where I’m goin’, where I’m goin’?
Where I’m goin’ I’ll never know
Into the fire I thought you’ll put it girl
It’s just a thing, I tell her to look at it

That’s all I know
That’s all I’ll ever know
Turn it all
Goin’ across the mighty river
Make a mile for me in the rain
Let’s go down, no talk with a violent shiver
How the hell we’ll go down?
Just keep in mind what I said

We found a way
We found a way
We found a way , a way
We found a way

That’s all I know
That’s all I’ll ever know
Turn it all
Goin’ across the mighty river
Make a mile for me in the rain
Let’s go down, no talk with a violent shiver
How the hell we’ll go down?
Just keep in mind what I said

We found a way
We found a way
We found a way, a way
We found a way

Not really a sound I care for either, but the band is tight and I like the guitar rift in the middle.
