Today’s song comes courtesy of a request by my lovely wife. I don’t get a lot of requests here on Meet Me In Montauk but I take seriously the ones I do get. A blogger unresponsive to his audience is no kind of blogger at all.

Now, I can’t promise I’ll have anything interesting to say about the requested songs I feature, as you can tell by the way I’ve been stalling my way through this entry. But I will most definitely feature them.
‘Desperation’ is the song off Miranda Lambert’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend that Alex responded to at once. This is an atypical song for her to latch on to because it’s a rather slow-tempo ballad. Alex tends to like ’em fast.
I like ’em both slow and fast, and this is a favorite of mine as well.

As to requests, I haven’t heard much (any?) Joe Jackson on your blog. I would love to hear almost anything off of Big World, “Wild West” perhaps or “Home Town” I also haven’t heard much (any?) Jackson Browne around here. Maybe something off of Lives in the Balance like “In the Shape of a Heart” or something more classic like “The Pretender.:
Also, haven’t heard much from Don Henley round these parts…Would love a feature of “A Month of Sundays” going into “Sunset Grill”

All very good suggestions. I’ve been meaning to do some Joe Jackson, maybe even a theme week, but I don’t know if I’m qualified to discuss his career very thoroughly. But I’ll definitely feature him, as well as the other two. In fact, I’m really surprised I haven’t gotten to any of them yet.
