I remember being shocked when Wham! shed their pretty boy image and went all dark and leathery. The guys prancing around in this video were so feathery soft they were in danger of floating up to the ceiling. Watching this, it’s amazing there was a time people doubted George Michael was gay.
He did pull off that greaser makeover, and wound up as a hell of a sex symbol in ‘Faith,’ ‘Father Figure’ and, of course, ‘I Want Your Sex.’ But here’s old Georgie back in the day…

Well, since my epic trip down memory lane got lost in the cyberspace, I will simply say, “Jitterbug.” 🙂 Seriously, this is shallow pop as its bubble gum best. I won’t go on again about the short shorts clad back-up singers or the few too young and wholesome to be sexually threatening girls who managed to smuggle on to the set… but I will say thanks for this wonderful blast from the past.
