In a nifty marketing move, Neko Case is donating $5 to Best Friends Animal Society every time somebody posts her latest single on his or her blog over the next two weeks.
Now I don’t particularly care about animals, but I will jump at the chance to focus some attention on Neko Case. I’ve been eagerly looking forward to new music from her since her wonderful 2006 album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. She has one of the very best voices in popular music today and the songwriting chops to match.
Her new album is called Middle Cyclone and it’s due out on March 3. The lead single is ‘People Got a Lotta Nerve,’ and it’s a quick burst of infectious jangle-pop that has me more excited than ever to hear her new stuff.

I like the “jangle-pop” sound of this song, but not as much as I like the word “jangle-pop,” which I will try to incorporate into as many conversations as humanly possible today. I might just feature her on my blog, even though I’m not much of a blogger or much of an animal lover. You just have to love the concept 🙂
