Just two weeks ago, the Random iTunes Fairy served up a track from Beyoncé’s 2006 sophomore album, B’Day. Against substantial odds, the album is represented again today.
Apparently random selection stands no chance against the desire to see Beyoncé dancing in her freakum dress.
Apparently the Random iTunes Fairy felt it had been too long since Beyoncé graced the blog with her presence. So here is a cut from Queen B’s 2006 album B’Day.
The record was Beyoncé’s second solo effort and, looking back now, it’s a charming glimpse at the R&B diva before she took over the world.
Through some cosmic coincidence, Beyoncé happened to be playing the Staples Center in Los Angeles the very week we were in town. If fate had cooperated, we would have run into her at a restaurant or something and I would be posting a photo here of myself at her side. No such luck.
I jokingly suggested that the family should attend the show (jokingly because it was long sold out and the only available tickets online went for hundreds of dollars apiece) and my wife suggested it would be absurd for me to attend a Beyoncé concert because I don’t know most of her songs (as if that matters).
