Continuing my look at the Billboard Hot 100 songs of 2024…
Taylor Swift shows up at #12, but it’s not a song from her latest album, but rather ‘Cruel Summer,’ the Lover track that reached #1 four years after its album release. At #13 is Tate McRae’s ‘Greedy,’ a decent showing for an artist I’m still not sure is a real person.
That brings us to #14 and the next song I haven’t yet featured — ‘Like That’ by Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar.
I’m starting the new year off with a look at the top songs of 2024 according to Billboard’s year-end Hot 100.
If I did my job right last year, I will have already featured most of the songs at the top of the list. When that’s the case, I’ll link to the appropriate blog entry.

Yesterday I looked back on my past year of blogging, so today is about the year to come. Here are some of my plans for 2025:
My new annual tradition is to dedicate my last post of the year to looking back at what I accomplished (and failed to accomplish) on the blog over the previous 12 months.
To wrap up 2024 and kick off 2025, I’m planning to write my “looking back” and “looking ahead” posts over the next two days. That leaves today as a bit of a dead spot.
I was torn between posting another Christmas song and posting a New Year’s Eve song, but one would be late and one would be early. Then I realized I could split the difference and post a New Year’s song in a Christmas movie, which averages out to December 30, more or less (ok, the math’s not perfect, but cut me some slack).
