Selena Gomez makes her first appearance in Billboard’s Top Ten in two and a half years with a minor key ballad in the same whispery vein as her well-received 2015 album Revival.
‘Lose You To Love Me’ is pretty enough, but I’m surprised that it has become Gomez’s highest-charting song. She has never climbed higher than #5 before now, yet this track made it all the way to #1. It held the top spot for one week before dropping to #5 on this week’s chart.
I’m a big fan of Revival, in all its breathy sexiness, but I do miss the more pop-friendly and vocally muscular work she did with The Scene. I’d like to see her next album at least find some middle ground between the two styles.

I get the appeal of this song and video. It has a similar hypnotic vibe as Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” with an Enya twist.
I really love this song and some of the back story behind it. It’s so sweet that she showed it to Taylor Swift and her mom (both of them promptly crying to it because they know what Selena’s been through). Happy to see her doing so well with this.
