I hadn’t heard this one from Jess. Thanks. it’s a great example of how the soul can be sucked right out of song. A good lesson for Idol fans. All hail Stevie Nicks, who may have a better voice than Lucinda Williams. But for those of us that play a little guitar, aren’t we impressed by the solo break Jess executes here? I do wonder if she comes up with these arrangements herself. The vocal seems to drag the entire time but she ends the solo on a run and her singing picks up right as the solo ends. I don’t hear improvising here and feel like there is an Oz behind the beautiful mask. And the guitar playing to be fair.
