I’m often shocked to realize how few posts I’ve dedicated to certain artists, even 2,300 songs into the Song of the Day series.
Take today’s Random iTunes Selection, Talking Heads, a band I consider among my favorites. This is just the third appearance by the group in more than five years.
They started off strong, landing the third-ever Song of the Day post. But it was slim pickings thereafter, with only two appearances in the next 2,316.
Perhaps a theme week is in order. I haven’t done an artist-based theme in awhile, and Talking Heads is influential and interesting enough to warrant the attention.
For now, they’ll have to settle for this cut from their debut album, 77 (released in, you guessed it, 1977).
