It’s been 9 months since I last featured Josh Joplin on the blog, and I feel pretty much the same way I did back then. Here’s what I had to say last October:

It’s been nearly three years since I last featured Josh Joplin on the blog, and I feel pretty much the same way I did back then.

To quote myself, “these are the Random Weekend selections I most enjoy — little blasts from the past that give me an excuse to catch up with an artist I’ve long ago forgotten.”

This is almost certainly the first time I’ve listened to the Josh Joplin Group since I wrote that post, and (let’s be honest) probably the last time until it pops up on another Random Weekend.

This is indeed the first time I’ve listened to the Josh Joplin Group since I wrote that post, and (let’s be honest) probably the last time until it pops up on another Random Weekend.

Verse 1: Josh Joplin]
I wanted perfection from every song I’ve ever sung
That was wrong
And I wanted something from every person I’ve ever loved
That was wrong

[Chorus: Josh Joplin]
And I’ve changed, I’ve changed
I’ve reconsidered everything
I’m fine now, oh I’m fine now
Laid the barrel in my mouth
And everything I’ve thought before
I won’t think anymore
I’ve changed, I’ve changed, I’ve changed

[Verse 2: Josh Joplin]
And I wanted to be the greatest at everything
But I can’t be
And I wanted to be exempt from temptation
But I can’t be

[Chorus: Josh Joplin]
And I’ve changed, I’ve changed
I’ve reconsidered everything
I’m fine now, oh I’m fine now
Laid the barrel in my mouth
And everything I’ve thought before
I won’t think anymore
I’ve changed, I’ve changed, I’ve changed

[Verse 3: Josh Joplin]
I wanted your love to be everlasting
But it isn’t
And I wanted life to be an easier proposition
But it isn’t

[Chorus: Josh Joplin]
And I’ve changed, I’ve changed
I’ve reconsidered everything
I’m fine now, oh I’m fine now
Laid the barrel in my mouth
And everything I’ve thought before
I won’t think anymore
I’ve changed, I’ve changed, I’ve changed
I’ve changed, I’ve changed, I’ve changed
